Meet the founder

It started in my own kitchen.

For years, I struggled with eczema. I tried the “clean” lotions, the natural remedies, the products with labels a mile long. Nothing ever felt right on my skin.

So I started making my own, with as few ingredients as I could. That’s how I found tallow: an old-fashioned fat our grandparents knew well, rendered from grass-fed cows and rich in the same kinds of fats our skin already makes.

My homemade cream and soap became the only things my skin felt comfortable with. Friends and family started asking for jars. In spring 2025, Viva Tallow was born.

Today, every jar and bar is still made by hand, in small batches, in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. Same simple recipes. Same five ingredients or fewer.

How we make it

From Minnesota pastures to your skin.

We keep everything close to home, so we know exactly what goes into every jar.

  1. Grass-fed tallow

    We source suet from 100% grass-fed, grass-finished cows raised on small Minnesota farms.

  2. Slow rendering

    We render it slowly and carefully, by hand, until it’s clean, pure, and neutral. See how we make our tallow.

  3. Local beeswax

    Our beeswax comes straight from a trusted Minnesota beekeeper.

  4. Small batches

    Every cream is whipped, every bar is poured, and every jar is filled by hand in St. Louis Park.
